Every year around 23 to 25 September there is a ceremony to commemorate
the Volunteers of Brussels 1830 who fought for the independence of our country.
The ceremonies start at the Congress Column.
From there everyone goes to the Place des Martyrs (Martyrs' Square) where more than 400 volunteers were buried.
Then they are received at City Hall and from there to Manneken Pis it becomes much more a folklore event.
