Joanna Theresia was born in Loppem on 6.12.1824. She was the daughter of Jacob Cockhuyt and Marie Ballegeer. She was first married to Jan Francies Haegeman who died in Sint-Laureins on 17.12.1853. She died after 1896.

He was a farmer and innkeeper in the Boterhoek (boter = butter and hoek = corner).
