An estate inventory or estate reckonings called in Dutch "staat van goed" was a list of all the belongings of someone who passed away (while in charge of under age children).
It lists the names of the heirs and describes the goods and everything else that belonged to the deceased. It also lists the debts and the moneys owed to the dearly departed. It gives us a good idea of how our ancestors lived.
Everything was then sold for the benefit of the heirs.
