The Adegem Canadian War Cemetery


Le 9 mai 2015, quelques dizaines de membres de l'Association des Amis de Jean Talon, accompagnés de quelques anciens combattants sont venus de Châlons-en-Champagne (Champagne-Ardenne, France) à Adegem pour visiter le Canada Poland War Museum.
Ensuite une petite cérémonie a eu lieu au Cimetière Canadien pour commémorer les soldats, spécialement ceux du Québec qui sont tombés pour libérer nos régions et qui reposent ici à Adegem.
Jean Talon, né à Châlon-en-Champagne était le premier intendant de la Nouvelle-France, actuellement le Québec.
L'Association veut mettre en valeur Jean Talon et sa ville natale et multiplier les liens entre le Québec et la France.

On 9 May 2015 a few dozen members of the Association of the Friends of Jean Talon, accompagnied by a number of war veterans came from
Châlons-en-Champagne (Champagne-Ardenne, France) to Adegem to visit the Canada Poland War Museum.
This visit was followed by a short ceremony on the Adegem Canadian War Cemetery to commemorate and honor the soldiers, specially those who came from Quebec and who fell to liberate our regions and who now rest here in Adegem.
Jean Talon, born in Châlon-en-Champagne was the first Intendant of New France, now called Québec.
The Association wants to highlight the life and merits of Jean Talon and the city where he was born
and to forge closer ties between Québec and France.
