Willem was arboriculturist. He was born in Serskamp on 9 February 1911.
He was the son of Achille Van Herreweghe, arboriculturist (° Serskamp 25/10/1876 - † Lede 1/9/1963) and Alida Coppitters (° Berlare 31/12/1887 - † Serskamp 25/10/1934) who were married in Berlare on 12 October 1910.
Achille was the son of Carolus Ludovicus Van HERREWEGE (° Cherscamp 3/4/1826 - † Serskamp 5/10/1896) and his second wife Clementina BLANCQUAERT (° Lede 20/2/1838 - † Wetteren ca. 1925).
Charles Louis was the son of Joannes Francies Van HERREWEGE (° Wetteren 27/9/1800 - † Serskamp 25/5/1853) and Theresia VERHOFSTADT (° Serskamp 20/12/1801 - † Serskamp 11/3/1840).
Joannes Francies was the son of Gerardus Van HERREWEGE (° ca. 1722 - † Wetteren 5/1/1789) and Adriana Maria HUYLEBROECK († Wetteren 12/10/1837).
Gerardus was the son of Joannes Van ERREWEGEN (° Wetteren 10/8/1713) and Gertrudis DUYTSCHAEVER (° Wetteren 5/6/1713 - † Wetteren 17/2/1786).
Joannes was the son of Geeraert Van HERREWEGHE (° Massemen 22/5/1688 - † Wetteren 16/4/1760) and his first wife Joanna VEREECKEN (° Wetteren 10/2/1681 - † Wetteren ??/7/1718).
Geeraert was the son of Pauwel (Paul, Paulus) HEEREWEGH († Massemen 20/3/1694) and Gerarda Van BELLE (° Massemen 6/1/1649 - † Massemen ??/10/1721).
Pauwel was the son of Agidius HERREWEGHE († 27/1/1669) and his second wife Janneken ROOMS.
And finally, Pauwels HEERWEGH, of whom we only know that he was the father of Agidius.

Long before the days of easy mass tourism Willem travelled far and wide to promote and sell his products.

Willem and Agnes have 2 sons and 3 daughters who each have 3 children of their own.

Like Estelle, her sister, Agnes died fairly young, in Serskamp on 20 November 1959.

On 24 December 1960 Willem married in Ghent-St. Macharius for the second time. His bride was Maria De Corte (° Massemen 23/8/1922 - † Erpe, WZC Avondzon 28/1/2020). She gave him three children and 5 grandchildren.

Willem passed away on 1 April 2001.
But not only the family firm Willem van Herreweghe goes on. His oldest son also grows great plants and successfully exports them to the four continents (http://www.jvh-nurseries.com).
