Barely 21 years old, on 21/1/1795 he was married in his birthplace to Thecla Francisca Rabaut; daughter of Emmanuel Rabaut and Theresia De Cock.  Thecla was born in Moerkerke on 21/9/1767.  Her father came from the Sint-Salvator parish in Brugge and her mother's roots were in Moerkerke.

Vincent's occupation was "boutiquier" according to the birth act of his daughter Marie Antoinette.  In 1831 he was living in the Nederscheldestraat in Ghent.  He was a barber then.

The union of Thecla and Vincent was blessed with 8 children:

  1. Sophia Ludovica
    ° Eeklo 23-12-1795
    She was married in Eeklo on 23-4-1818 to Gerardus Josephus Van Vooren, a weaver who was born there on 10-2-1788.  In 1825 they lived in the Boelare in Eeklo with 2 sons and 2 daughters.
    Sophia died in Eeklo on 13-5-1837.

  3. Anna Coleta

    She died in Ghent on 9 March 1871 at about 15 hrs. in her place in the Voetweg in Ghent.  She was then the widow of Petrus Henricus Van Daele.  Her demise was registered with the authorities by her son in law Judocus Dauwe, a 42 year old day labourer.

    She died on 8 July 1886 at about 15 hrs in her lodings in the Sint-Anthoniuskaai in Ghent.  She was the widow of Franciscus Surquin.

    She married the 43 year old Petrus Eugenius Joannes Deros in Ghent on 24-7-1850.  He was a 43 year old carpenter from the Antwerpsepoortstraat, who was born in Diksmuide the son of Eugenius and Carolina Diet.  He was the widower of Anna Maria Antonia Reuben.  Anna Maria was a shopkeeper in the Oudburg in Ghent and since 12 May 1848 she was the widow of Dionysius Labirint who had died in Ghent.  The witnesses to the wedding were his brother Joannes Deros, her brother Carolus then a 54 year old butcher and two of her brothers in law, nl. Petrus Van Daele (52, barber) and Livinus Van Daele (46, mechanical engineer).  Dionisius was a foundling and innkeeper in the Sluizekenskaai.
    Eugenia Francisca died in Ghent on 15 June 1865 in her abode in the Oude Kerkweg at about 11 o'clock in the morning.
     

Vincentius was a widower when on 9 February 1831 in Ghent he was married to Joanna De Buck, a 25 year old dressmaker.  She was born in Ghent on 7 November 1805, the daughter of Jacobus and Maria Livina De Coster from the Huidevettershoek.  His son-in-law Franciscus Surquin (31 year old mechanical engineer; in 1832 barber in the Reep) was his best man at the wedding.

Vincent died only a few months later on 6-7-1831 in his lodgings in the Papegaaistraat in Ghent.

On Epiphany,  6 January 1832, their daughter Rosalia, Vincent's ninth child, was born posthumously in the provincial school for obstetrics of the Bijloke Hospital, but she died 9 months later on 8-10-1832 in her mother's place in the Predikherenlei. (Predikheren = the Order of Preachers or the Dominican Order also called the Black Friars and a "lei" is a road on the banks of a river or canal.)

Twenty years later on 15-1-1851 Joanna (now a lace-worker) remarried in Ghent with Louis Seth, a 49 year old factory worker who lived in the Kelderstraat (kelder = cellar) and who was the widower of Carolina Weukermans.  He was born in Ghent the son of Frans Cornelis and Maria Josephina Goossens.  Joanna De Buck died in Ghent on 7-2-1886 at 6.30 in the morning in her house in the St.-Anthoniuskaai in Ghent (kaai = quay).
